Southern Comfort Food,is an experienced personal chef service in the  Baltimore-Washington, DC metropolitan area and has just recently relocated to southern WV. Southern Comfort Food is owned and operated by Tina Greene and offers ‘palate-specific’ personal meals cooked from fresh ingredients in private homes.  “With so many households where people are working, meal planning and preparation becomes an extra burden. The art of preparing a healthy, well-balanced meal is almost extinct.  Frozen entrees and take-out foods, while convenient, are loaded with salt and preservatives, “ says Chef Greene. “You may save preparation time, but your family’s health and well-being suffers in the long run.”
 
Tina meets with clients to determine their specific dietary needs. Then menus are agreed upon and a cooking day is selected. “We shop for all the food, come into the client’s home and cook meals as agreed. Then we fresh freeze them and clean everything up. “We leave nothing behind but delicious smells and great food,” says Greene.
 
Chef Greene is also available for in home event planning, such as brunches, cooking classes, wedding/bridal showers, formal dinner parties or romantic evenings for two.  She will meet with clients to discuss the event and is able to offer full service in home catering, including table settings, food preparation, food service and clean up.
 
Tina is a native of Beckley, WV and has returned to the area after spending several years in the Washington, DC area.  She spent a number of years working in the corporate environment, but in 2006 took a step of faith in utilizing her entrepreneurial spirit and concentrate on growing Southern Comfort Food.  Now she is undertaking another leap of faith to open a small cafe' in her hometown.
 
Tina Greene has a passion for all food, but especially the old-fashioned southern cooking she grew up on.  She is a self-taught cook, having trained at the hands of her grandmothers and in the church kitchens of WV.   Chef Greene can be contacted at 301-751-9369 or 304-575-3296 for more information.

Qianna is Tina's daughter who often works with her mother in the business. She graduated from Bowie State in May 2008 with a B.S. in Child Studies.  She is an excellent baker and cake decorator.  She shares her mother's love of cooking and also has a decided flair for presentation and set up.
